Please note that this entire site is VERY image-heavy. If you're still on dialup, well.. sorry! The primary point of this thing existing is to share pix and schematics and files.

4/08: Theres MANY updates to be made, check back for:
brownie pan transmitter
rock mites
bitx20
prc-47
DX-100
...and some other neat stuff I'm forgetting, but for now, check out an "insane qrp TEXT FILE" from when bfore the innernet had pictures!
01/07: As is common within Ham Radio, I've become interested in a new (new-old!) operating mode, RTTY. (radio teletype.)
Its slow, inefficient in terms of both power and spectrum, etc. Perfect! ;) Sure, you can do RTTY with computers,
but a real, mechanical teletype machine is an engineering marvel. I scored a Lorenz teletype machine, the funky roll-top desk
it lives in, and a HAL ST-6000 Tuning Unit. (modem) Check out my RTTY page.
12/15/06: Fiiiinally, I've gotten this page far enough to let the public see it. Still need to finish the Eico section,
gotta throw down some obligatory "shack pics," ohh, the other HALF of the boatanchor collection,
have a few images to re-size, etc. But we're up and running!
11/20/06: The week before last I noticed a bunch of old TV sets and hi-fi's out by the curb in front of a house in my neighborhood. Anyone with an interest in vintage electronics and ham radio knows that TV sets from the 1960's on back are an absolute GOLDMINE of scarce parts and tubes.
So, I immediately ran home and got my crummy little pick-up truck and promptly filled it. Emptied it, went back and got MORE stuff.
Spoke to the lady at the house, seems her father was a TV repairman long ago, and has decided to clean out the garage. (and the poolhouse, and the shed...)
I expressed my interest in hauling away their "garbage," and was invited back for more. Yeah, all 6 loads of it with my little truck!
Among many other neat things I scored this box of Ancient TUBES, and in particular, a new-looking 813. Yep, for FREE! I've been trying to win a cheap 813 off of ebay for months now! Click that 813 link to see what I plan to do with it.
So, the TV parts... the first thing I'm going to build with 'em is the "65 Watts at Low Cost" transmitter. Got the appropriate power transformer picked out, got a 6k6gt sitting on the desk here, just have to decide whether I'm gonna go with 6bg6gt's or 6dq6's for the finals.
So, Check out all of these old TV sets!
11/06: The
11/06: Whats with all the 11/06's? ;)
11/06: "Lester," The interesting homebrew 6DQ6 novice TX I scored off ebay. Lots of pics!
